At Stargazer Outreach, we provide mentoring through outdoor adventures for “at risk” and fatherless youth 7-18 at various locations In Southwest VA and Pinellas County Fl.
Our desire is for EVERY child to have a responsible adult in their life to teach them life skills that will build their self-confidence and improve their chances for success. One of our goals is to help recruit motivated mentors dedicated to providing consistent mentorship AND friendship to those in need.
Our mentors come from diverse backgrounds, each bringing a unique skill set along with decades of experience to the Stargazer Outreach team.
Every mentor has undergone a background and criminal history check. You and your child will sit down with his/her potential mentor and a Stargazer staff member as part of the discovery process. ALL parties must agree that the match will proceed. Mentors are asked to commit to two hours a week of volunteer services that span the course of one year.
We are partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Clubs, and local civic and church organizations in an effort to make a greater impact. We are targeting kids who are the most vulnerable.
